allan pred and 2009

i started this blog in 2007 and for a few months I was inspired.  but i soon began taking money for  writing "green" blog posts and quickly became dissatisfied with the endeavor and my product.  it was writing as work not writing as art.  and then i got other work in the form of a career and i stopped writing entirely.  i still have a career and I still want to express myself. so i erased all the stuff from summer of 2007 blog extravaganza that was posted here and that i couldnt stand anymore.  im restarting Friday February 13, 2009.

and of course, none of this could be possible without the influence of the late mr. allan pred, professor of geography at uc berkeley to whom I owe credit for the blog title. Pred regarded "the invisible geographies of power relations and discourse as every bits as 'real' and visible as the geographies of the built environment and actual human activity."  Brilliant and balanced allan taught us not what to think but how to think.  A true gift.
